Encrypted at rest
Sensitive fields are encrypted before they touch disk, hosted in Germany. Sureguard holds the encryption keys — the database host only ever stores ciphertext for those fields.

Where is my data stored?expand_more
In Germany. The app runs on servers Sureguard operates (Hetzner), and records are stored in a managed Postgres database in the same region. Sensitive fields are encrypted before they hit disk, and Sureguard holds those keys. We do not sell your data and do not use your records to train third-party AI models. The optional Shop lists provider recommendations with affiliate and sponsored links clearly labeled as such.
Can my family see everything?expand_more
You decide per record. Records marked “household” are visible to anyone in your household; records marked “private” are visible only to you. Trustees can request emergency access with a 7-day cool-off you control.
What happens if I leave?expand_more
You can delete individual records or your whole household at any time. Deletes are honored on the live database; backups are purged on a rolling 30-day cycle.
Can I import what I already have?expand_more
Today the fastest path in is Quick Scan (photo your records, MyBootie files them) and the per-user forwarding email (forward a receipt or update, MyBootie files it). Bulk import is on the roadmap.
Does MyBootie replace my insurance / financial advisor?expand_more
No. MyBootie organizes the records you give it. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney, doctor, financial advisor, accountant, or other professional.
